For more than 10 years, Clint Lutes has been developing an approach to improvisation with older movers, people living with neuro-evolutive diseases, psychological issues and cognitive impairment. His approach draws influence from instant composition, contact improvisation, choreographic research processes, and various somatic practices.
Clint gives focus to a balance between finding release and joy in dancing while developing a conscious engagement of physicality and awareness. He defines this work as inclusive dance, and aims not only at making dance accessible to as many people as possible, but encourages everyone to access all parts of themselves within their dancing.
This 2-day workshop will share aspects of this practice and associated tools with practitioners that work with similar individuals or who wish to discover and explore this methodology. It will be a practice based workshop, leaving time for reflection, exchanges and questions. You may participate in one or both days of the workshop.

About Clint Lutes (BFA in Dance at NYU Tisch)
Clint Lutes' choreography, often interactive and created to be adaptable to various spaces, is as inspired by human fragility as it is by joy and laughter. He has created performances with professionals as well as non-professionals in dance studios, psychological care facilities, hospitals, elderly care homes and elsewhere. Beginning in 2012, he began working more intently on research and creative projects with non-professionals using improvisation methods, in particular with people living with movement disorders, leading to the creation of his company DaPoPa. Clint has collaborated with the Korean choreographer Eun Me Ahn for over 25 years. From 2003-2010, Clint was founder and co-director of the LUCKY TRIMMER platform in Berlin. As a pedagogue, he has taught for the Akram Khan Company, Australian Dance Theater, Centre National de la Danse, Festival ImPulsTanz, Tanzhaus Zurich, Quand on Danse and the universities Cal St. Fullerton, NYU and the Univ. of South Florida.
